Water is the key to so much of my creative process as a photographer. It’s a huge factor in the work I find myself doing in my home surroundings of south Louisiana, and here it shows up again as the dominant force on Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
I had a wonderful week of exploration and photography. Pawleys Island is rich in history and beauty and I know I’ve only begun to scratch the surface. Here are some color photographs from my trip–think of this as pages out of a photographer’s sketchbook–that I wanted to share. Some of these may eventually end up as fully-realized split-toned black and white images, others only work as color photos. See what you think.
