Boston.com’s The Big Picture blog has a great set of Instagram photographs by Associated Press White House photographer Charles Dharapak, a seasoned pro who has seen it all. Here we get a look at what he’s shooting with his iPhone, mostly while waiting for various presidential and Capitol Hill events to happen. I’ve shot my share of presidential events over the years and I can tell you, most of your time is spent waiting for the President to arrive and then afterwards, waiting for him to clear the area. A whole lot of waiting.

Dharapak has an artist’s eye and we see it in these small, quiet photographs.
