Today’s Photograph 4/20/2010: Cedar Tree

I came across this cedar tree last week in a park around midday. The park dates from the 1930s so while this tree looks ancient, it’s probably not. The midday light was harsh but works in this photo, creating contrasts that reveal the sinewy textures in the tree’s bark I don’t think this photo would be nearly as interesting on a cloudy, overcast day. I shot this with my 50mm macro lens.
